Dubai Parking Fines 2026: Amounts, Pay, Check & Dispute

Most Dubai parking fines cost AED 100 to 200, from AED 150 for no ticket to AED 1,000 for a reserved bay. On a Brook Drive rental, the fine is forwarded to you after the rental and you pay it. There is no deposit.

Dubai Parking Fines List and Amounts

Public paid parking in Dubai is run by Parkin under a concession from the RTA, and Parkin publishes its own table of fines. The amounts below come from that table, checked in October 2026 on parkin.ae/fines. Roadside and plot parking and multi-storey car parks have separate lists.

Parkin fines for roadside and plot parking
Violation Fine (AED)
Parking without paying, or without a ticket shown when the fine is issued 150
Staying beyond the maximum time, or using a space after the ticket has expired 100
Any act that disrupts the use of parking spaces 200
Driving or parking on a pavement 200
Parking in a no-parking area of public parking 200
Parking in a bay for People of Determination without a permit, with an expired permit, or with the permit not displayed 1,000
Parking in a space reserved for others 1,000
Parking a car with no number plate 1,000
Displaying a vehicle for sale or rent without a permit 1,000
Damaging parking machines, equipment or signs 1,000
Moving or removing parking signs or equipment without a permit 10,000
Parkin fines for multi-storey car parks
Violation Fine (AED)
Losing the ticket or electronic card that shows the time of entry 150
Parking outside the places designated for it, or in a prohibited place 200
Going over the bay lines 200
Double parking 200
Any act that disrupts the use of the car park, including blocking traffic at an entrance or exit 200
Exceeding the maximum authorised parking time 500
Exceeding the vehicle height allowed in the car park 500
Parking in a People of Determination bay without a permit, or in a space reserved for others 1,000
Evading payment of parking fees by any means 1,000
Damaging the car park or tampering with its machines, equipment or signs 1,000

Parkin’s table lists no black points. They come from the federal traffic law: parking in a People of Determination bay without a permit carries AED 1,200 and 6 black points, according to Gulf News. Parking in front of a fire hydrant is also a federal traffic offence rather than a Parkin one, with the same source reporting a fine of AED 1,000.

Pay the moment you park. There is no grace period once a ticket runs out, so extend the session in the app or by SMS before it ends.

Parking Fines on a Rental Car

Who gets the fine and who pays it

A parking fine is recorded against the car’s number plate, so it goes to the registered owner of the car. On a rental, that is the rental company. Parkin says only the registered owner can see the photo of the violation in its app or on its website.

On a Brook Drive rental, a parking fine is forwarded to you and you pay it after the rental. There is no deposit, so nothing is held back from you while fines come through. Salik and Darb tolls are billed to you separately after the rental ends.

Verdict

A parking fine does not disappear when you return the car. Keep the parking SMS, the app receipt or a screenshot of the session until the rental is closed, so you can prove a payment if a fine arrives later.

Parking a large or low car

Big cars need care in older car parks. In a multi-storey car park, going over the bay lines costs AED 240. On the street, taking up two bays can count as disrupting the use of the parking, which is also AED 240. Wide SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade, Rolls Royce Cullinan and Toyota Land Cruiser are best parked in the middle of the bay, so that no part of the car crosses the lines.

Low sports cars such as the Ferrari 296, Porsche 911 Turbo S and McLaren 750S are easier to place in marked car-park bays than at an uneven kerb. Leave the car only in a marked bay: parking outside the designated places is AED 240 in a car park.

How to Check a Parking Fine

You need the car’s plate details (emirate, plate category, code and number) or the fine number, if you have one.

  1. Parkin website. Open Parkin’s fines service and search by fine number, plate number, driving licence or traffic file number.
  2. Parkin app. The app shows your parking sessions and fines. It is on the App Store and on Google Play.
  3. RTA. The Pay Public Parking Fines page on the RTA site searches by plate number or fine number.
  4. Police fines. Fines issued by traffic police are checked separately, on the Dubai Police website and app or in the DubaiNow app.

The photo of a violation is visible only to the registered owner of the car. For a rental car, message your Brook Drive manager if you need it.

Helpful tip

Do not wait for a message about a fine. Look the plate up yourself on Parkin’s service before and after you hand the car back.

How to Pay a Parking Fine

Parkin lists five ways to pay a public parking fine: its app, its website, smart kiosks around the city, the RTA website and the RTA Dubai app.

Where you can pay a Parkin parking fine
Channel What you enter Good to know
Parkin website Fine number, plate number, driving licence or traffic file number Pay online by card
Parkin app The same details iOS and Android; also pays parking sessions
Smart kiosks Details shown on the kiosk screen Located across the city
RTA website Plate number or fine number Pay Public Parking Fines service
RTA Dubai app Details requested in the app Has a Pay Fines for Others option

How to Dispute a Parking Fine

You can dispute a parking fine free of charge, on Parkin’s website or in its app. You can also dispute a fine after paying it, by searching for it with its fine number.

  1. Open Parkin’s fines service, find the fine and choose Dispute Fine.
  2. Attach whatever proves your case: a parking SMS, an app receipt, photos of the bay or the signs. If you paid at a smart meter and did not print a ticket, give Parkin the meter number, because the payment data is stored.
  3. Wait for the decision. Parkin says it reviews a dispute within about two weeks (14 days on its fines page, 15 in its FAQ) and tells you the outcome. If the dispute is approved, the fine is cancelled.
  4. If you had already paid, ask for a refund through the RTA call centre or by email to WhatsApp +971 58 642 7299.

If a dispute is rejected but you have proof you could not upload, call Parkin on 800 7275 with the fine number and the documents. The agent files a complaint.

Parking Zones and Tariffs in Brief

Paid hours run Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 22:00. Parking is free overnight, on Sundays and on public holidays, except in multi-storey car parks, which charge around the clock, and a few zones that charge every day, such as Business Bay. In Ramadan the paid hours change to 08:00 to 18:00 and 20:00 to 22:00.

Roadside parking in standard Zone A costs AED 4.20 an hour. Zone C, also roadside, is AED 2.10 an hour off-peak and AED 4.20 at peak times. Premium zones in busy areas such as Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Deira and Jumeirah charge AED 6.30 an hour at peak times, from 08:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.

Two changes matter for visitors. 5% VAT has applied to Parkin parking services since June 2026, so its roadside tables now list VAT-inclusive prices such as AED 4.20. Meters no longer take cash: pay with a nol card or in the Parkin, DubaiNow or RTA Dubai app. Zone maps and every tariff are on Parkin’s parking information page.

Parking Fines FAQ

Is there a grace period after a parking ticket expires?

No. The RTA scrapped the 10-minute grace period after a ticket ends, and its spokesman said inspectors can fine a car even one minute after expiry, according to Gulf News. Parkin sends a reminder SMS 10 minutes before a ticket expires. Reply with the letter Y to 7275, or extend the ticket in the Parkin app.

Do parking fines carry black points?

Most do not: Parkin’s table lists no black points. Parking in a People of Determination bay without a permit is AED 1,200 and, under the federal traffic law, 6 black points.

Can I get a second fine if the car stays in the same place?

Not on the same day in the same place. If the violation is repeated the next day, Parkin issues a new fine.

Who pays a parking fine on a Brook Drive rental?

You do. The fine reaches Brook Drive as the owner of the car, we forward it to you, and you pay it after the rental. There is no deposit.

Can I find a parking fine with only the plate number?

Yes. Both Parkin’s service and the RTA parking fines page search by plate number. Parkin also accepts a fine number, a driving licence or a traffic file number.

How do I get a refund after a successful dispute?

If you paid the fine before Parkin cancelled it, contact the RTA call centre or email your refund request to WhatsApp +971 58 642 7299.
